PROSECUTOR: Deputy District Attorney Kevin Greene, Homicide Unit
On April 19, 2018, a jury convicted Mario Andreas Contreras of first-degree murder with use of a gun in the killing of Erik Ozee.
On May 31, 2015, Contreras approached a group of young people looking for Ozee, who he thought may have robbed him. Ozee ran from the group when Contreras asked for him. Contreras chased after him, shooting him in the head.
Contreras faces a maximum sentence of 50 years to life in prison. Sentencing is scheduled for June 15, 2018, in Department 33 before the Honorable Michael Savage.
