Proposition 47 Conviction Relief

Proposition 47, adopted by California voters on November 4, 2014, allows persons convicted of most personal use of illegal drugs offenses and theft crimes involving less than $950 to petition the court to have their convictions reduced to a misdemeanor (view or download PC § 1170.18 document).

Sacramento County uses a one-page form (view or download CR-325 petition document) for individuals or their attorneys to file in court and serve a copy on the District Attorney’s Office. The process is simple, fast and effective.
