CASE: Juan Alejandro Ramirez (Case # 22FE008274)

PROSECUTOR: Deputy District Attorney Ryan Roebuck, Special Assault & Child Abuse Unit

On January 17, 2025, the Honorable Ernest Sawtelle sentenced Juan Alejandro Ramirez to 180 years in prison.  On November 20, 2024, a jury convicted Ramirez of 18 counts of forcible lewd act upon a child. The jury also found true substantial sexual conduct allegations as well as aggravating factors that the victim was particularly vulnerable; the crimes took planning and sophistication; and Ramirez was in a position of trust.

Ramirez was a trusted person to the victim and her family.  Between November 2019 and February 2022,Ramirez committed countless acts of forced sexual assault upon the victim. The sexual assaults occurred in different places including in Ramirez’s car when he took the victim on short trips with him. The abuse ended when a member of the victim’s family caught Ramirez molesting the victim. The victim then disclosed the years of sexual abuse by Ramirez.

Under current California law, Ramirez (age 36) will become eligible for release at an Elder Parole hearing once he reaches the age of 50 and only serves 20 years of his 180-year sentence.  With his in-custody credits, that will be in approximately 17 years.
