Defendant Sentenced for Sexually Assaulting Two Girls
DATE: April 8, 2024
CASE: Greg Jimenez (Case #21FE020066)
PROSECUTOR: Deputy District Attorney Brandon Jack, Special Assault & Child Abuse Unit
On April 5, 2024, the Honorable Steve White sentenced Greg Jimenez to 94 years in state prison and lifetime sex offender registration. The Court found true aggravating factors that the crimes involved great violence or showed a high degree of cruelty, viciousness, or callousness; the victim was particularly vulnerable; and Jimenez took advantage of a position of trust. On February 9, 2024, a jury convicted Jimenez of three counts of lewd acts upon a child and nine counts of forcible lewd acts upon a child. The jury also found true a substantial sexual conduct allegation.
Jimenez was a friend of the victim’s family. When the victim was between 6 and 11 years old, she and her sister visited Jimenez at his home multiple times. During that time, Jimenez sexually assaulted the victim in his home and in his car. During many of the assaults, he would choke the victim and pull her hair. He also threatened the victim not to tell, stating she would get in trouble and no one loved her. The victim’s sister also reported that Jimenez had previously committed sexual acts against her.
