Dedicated courts are created for certain types of offenders and vulnerable populations that have unique needs and circumstances, such as veterans and the homeless. These alternative courts reduce trauma on victims and provide offenders with services, such as mental health and drug or alcohol treatment, rather than jail time.

Chronic Offender Rehabilitation Effort

Focuses on repeat criminal offenders who negatively impact public safety and quality of life by addressing substance abuse, mental illness and housing needs.

Commercial Sexually Exploited Children Court

Addresses commercial sexually exploited children with specific needs, including safety and mental health stability.

Driving Under the Influence Treatment Court

Targets high-risk repeat DUI offenders to reduce recidivism and decrease alcohol-related collisions, injuries, and fatalities.

Mental Health Court

Prop 36 Court

Developed to accommodate the Substance Abuse and Crime Prevention Act of 2000 (Prop 36), which permanently changed state law. This initiative allowed non-violent offenders being charge with drug possession, to receive probation rather than incarceration.

Reducing Sexually Exploited & Trafficked Court

A diversion program for young adults arrested for sex work crimes, providing wrap around trauma based services, life skills and peer mentoring.

Veterans' Treatment Court

Created in response to the thousands of mentally ill and addicted veterans returning home and going through lifetime cycles of crime – arrest, court proceedings, incarceration, release, and more crime.
