Shaun Heflin, age 37, was convicted by a jury of nine counts of lewd act upon a child, two counts of sexual intercourse or sodomy with a child under 10 years old and oral copulation/sexual penetration of a child under 10 years old. The jury also found true a multiple victim enhancement.
Shaun Heflin met the first victim while she was living out of state and would frequently visit her and her family. Heflin began sexually touching the victim when she was 8 years old and the conduct progressed. When the victim moved to California, Heflin sodomized the victim, penetrate her genitalia, orally copulated the victim and made the victim orally copulate him. On one occasion, Heflin visited the victim when the second victim, her 7-year-old friend, was sleeping over. That night, Heflin had sexual intercourse with the second victim, while making the first victim orally copulate him. Further investigation revealed that Heflin molested multiple girls in different states, including Colorado, Washington and Oregon. Heflin has convictions from other states for sexual offenses.
Heflin faces a maximum sentence of 225 years to life in prison. Sentencing is set for February 27, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. in Department 18 before the Honorable Carlton Davis.
