CASE: Luis Hernandez (Case #25MI002531)

PROSECUTOR: Deputy District Attorney Madison Cloke, Misdemeanor Trial Unit

On March 19, 2025, Luis Hernandez was convicted by a jury of four counts of molesting a child under 18 years old, four counts of indecent exposure, and four counts of lewd acts in public.

On January 15, 2025, two girls (ages 12 and 13) were walking near their Folsom apartment complex when Luis Hernandez pulled up in his vehicle and stopped in front of their path. Hernandez then exposed himself and masturbated towards the children. When the girls screamed, Hernandez sped away in his vehicle. On January 25, 2025, two other children (ages 9 and 10) were playing in front of another Folsom apartment complex when Hernandez drove up to them and got out of his vehicle. Hernandez again exposed himself and masturbated towards them. The kids ran to tell their mother, and Hernandez fled. The Folsom Police Department obtained camera footage placing Hernandez’s vehicle in the area at the exact time of the January 25th incident.  Detectives were also able to retrieve the license plate number of the vehicle, which was registered to Hernandez. Further investigation showed Hernandez was in the area of the two crimes at the exact times of the two incidents.

Hernandez faces a maximum sentence of 4 years in jail.  Sentencing is set for April 25, 2025, at 1:30 p.m. in Department 40 before the Honorable Steve White.
