CASE: Roderick Pugh, Jr. & Wayne Michael Bruley (Case #22FE017880)

On May 26, 2026, Roderick Pugh, Jr. and Wayne Michael Bruley were convicted of a combined total of 60 counts of child sexual assault charges, including sodomy by force and forcible oral copulation. The jury also found true multi-victim and substantial sexual conduct allegations and aggravating factors that the victims were particularly vulnerable, the defendants used planning and sophistication and were in a position of trust.

The defendants are cousins who sexually assaulted children for decades. There were nine victims across an age range starting at 4 years old. Seven of the victims were sexually assaulted by Pugh, who would take photos of the child victims doing sexual acts and then would share the material on the internet.  Law enforcement also found more than 10,000 images and over 250 videos of confirmed Child Sexual Abuse Material on Pugh’s computer. Bruley sexually assaulted five victims. Pugh and Bruley sexually assaulted three of the same victims over the course of years.

Pugh faces a maximum sentence of 1,161 years to life in prison. Bruley faces a maximum sentence of 189 years to life in prison.  Sentencing is set for September 18, 2026, at 9:00 AM in Department13B before the Honorable Helena Gweon.
