CASE: Alexander Coffey (Case # 23FE018275)

PROSECUTOR: Deputy District Attorney Dinah Mielke, Homicide Unit

On December 19, 2025, the Honorable Kenneth Brody sentenced Alexander Coffey to 25 years to life in the state prison. On November 20, 2025, a jury convicted Coffey of second degree-murder and assault on a child causing death.

On November 11, 2023, Coffey was home alone with his 7-month-old son Greyson. Coffey woke up angry at around 1:15 a.m. and admitted to officers that he shook Greyson “really hard and fast.” Greyson suffered fatal injuries. The injuries Greyson’s brain and spine endured were worse than are seen in most car crash victims.
