CASE: Darquan Jackson, Alizey Whitfield (Case #20FE001537)

On October 30, 2025, Darquan Jackson and Alizey Whitfield were convicted by a jury of first-degree murder and assault with a semi-automatic firearm. Whitfield was also convicted of felon in possession of a firearm. The jury found true use of firearm enhancements for both defendants.

On January 1, 2020, Darquan Jackson and Alizey Whitfield shot and killed Hubert Calimee during a party at the Ramada Inn.  The murder is believed to have been gang motivated.  After the shooting, Jackson and Whitfield fled to a vehicle driven by Robert Massingale.  Prior to the trial, Massingale pled guilty in relation to the case and was sentenced to 16 years in state prison.  The firearms the defendants used were never recovered.

Jackson and Whitfield face a maximum sentence of 50 years to life in state prison. Sentencing is set for December 19, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. in Department 24 before the Honorable Kenneth Brody.
