DATE: October 21, 2025
CASE: Robert Grell (Case #24FE010141)
PROSECUTOR: Deputy District Attorney Dinah Mielke, Special Assault & Child Abuse Unit
On October 17, 2025, the Honorable Alyson Lewis sentenced Robert Grell to 240 years to life in prison. On August 12, 2025, Grell was convicted by a jury of 12 counts of forcible lewd act upon a child and eight counts of sex acts with a child under 10 years old.
Grell sexually assaulted the victim when she was age 5 to 10 years old. The assaults included forcing her to orally copulate him, fondling her and attempted penetration. Grell told her not to tell anyone and bribed her with candy and ice cream. Another victim testified that Grell molested her when she was 5 to 8 years old and again at 14 years old. Both girls reported that Grell would show them pornography on how to do sex acts.
Under current California law, Grell (age 36) will become eligible for release at an Elder Parole hearing once he turns 50 years old and has served 20 years of his 240-years to life prison sentence. With his in-custody credits, that will be in approximately 18 years.
