Sacramento County District Attorney Thien Ho and Folsom Police Chief Rick Hillman announce results from “Operation: Folsom Blues 2.0,” a regional coordinated sting operation targeting fentanyl/ narcotic dealers utilizing online marketplaces and social media applications to sell these illicit drugs.

On February 27th and 28th, law enforcement agencies used undercover accounts to arrange narcotic transactions at specific locations in Sacramento, El Dorado, Placer and Yolo counties.

Drug dealers that arrived at meeting locations were taken into custody and charged with sales of narcotics in their respective jurisdictions. All arrestees received the Watson advisement, which is an advisement that selling fentanyl is extremely dangerous to human life and might lead to a charge of murder if someone is killed as a result.

Close to 200 law enforcement members participated, representing the following local, state and federal agencies: Folsom Police Department, Sac-Force (Sacramento-Fentanyl Overdose Response Criminal Investigation Enforcement), Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office, Sacramento Police Department, Citrus Heights Police Department, Rancho Cordova Police Department, Elk Grove Police Department, Sacramento County Probation Department, West Sacramento Police Department, Roseville Police Department, WENET (West El Dorado Narcotics Enforcement Team), TRIDENT (Tri-County Drug Enforcement Team), Yolo County Sheriff’s Office, Woodland Police Department, Davis Police Department, UC Davis Police Department, Yuba County Sheriff’s Office, California Highway Patrol, California Department of Corrections & Rehabilitation Special Services Unit, DEA (Drug Enforcement Agency), Homeland Security Investigations, US Postal Inspection Service as well as the Sacramento, Yolo, Placer and El Dorado county district attorney offices.

The Folsom Police Department served as the command center. Additionally, there were law enforcement groups responsible for traffic enforcement focusing on street level narcotic arrest.

Successful Operation Results:

Felony arrests: 51

Misdemeanor/other arrests: 38

Drugs Seized:

Fentanyl: 7.76 ounces and 1,125 M30 fentanyl pills

Methamphetamine: 10.42 pounds

Mushrooms: 151.8 grams

Cocaine: 8.8 ounces

Ecstasy: 6.5 ounces

Alprazolam: 832 pills

Heroin: 4.8 ounces

Ketamine: 1.5 grams

Hydrocodone pills: 143

Marijuana: 2.6 pounds

Adderall: 40 pills

Klonopin: 17 pills

LSD/Acid: 80 tabs

Promethazine: 1 bottle

Other Items Seized:

Firearms: 25

Cash: Approx $25,000

Sacramento County District Attorney Thien Ho said, “These coordinated undercover operations are allowing us to identify, arrest and prosecute a significant number of dealers who are selling fentanyl and other dangerous drugs in our region. My office will continue to participate in these regional stings through Sac – FORCE and our Major Narcotics Unit to stop the flow of drugs into our community, especially deadly fentanyl.”
