The Honorable Ernest Sawtelle sentenced Alfred Tribbey to 98 years in prison. On February 7, 2025, Tribbey was convicted by a jury of nine counts of forcible lewd acts upon a child and one count of lewd act upon a child. Aggravating factors were also found true of vulnerable victim; the defendant took advantage of a position of trust; the crimes involved great violence, great bodily harm, threats of great bodily harm or other acts disclosing a high degree of cruelty, viciousness or callousness; and the manner in which the crimes were carried out indicates planning, sophistication or professionalism.

Tribbey used his position of trust to gain access to the vulnerable victim. Between 2020 and 2022, Tribbey molested the victim starting when she was 10 years old. He threatened to kill her and her family if she did not stay quiet.  Tribbey continued to sexually assault the victim for eight months. The molests ended when the victim’s family member caught Tribbey pulling down the victim’s pants.

Under current California law, Tribbey (age 55 ) will become eligible for release at an Elder Parole hearing once he only serves 20 years of his 98-year prison sentence.  With his in-custody credits, that will be in approximately 17 years.
