CASE: Ruben Lopez (Case #19FE019315)

On April 28, 2023, the Honorable James Arguelles sentenced Ruben Lopez to 167 years to life in prison. On February 23, 2023, Lopez was convicted by a jury of eight counts of committing lewd acts on a child under the age of 14, nine counts of committing lewd acts on a child under the age of 14 with force, one count of rape of a child under the age of 14 and five counts of rape.

Lopez began sexually assaulting the first victim in 2012 when the victim was 11 years old.  The abuse continued until 2019 when the victim disclosed the abuse to her oldest sister. While assaulting the first victim, Lopez also began assaulting her younger sister when she was 12 years old.  Both victims reported the abuse in 2019.  The first victim was an adult at the time she disclosed.  The second victim was 16 years old at the time she disclosed.
