CASE: Kareem Latifi (Case #21FE005325)

PROSECUTOR: Deputy District Attorney Amanda Sanchez, Special Assault & Child Abuse Unit

On April 6, 2023, Kareem Latifi was convicted by a jury of three counts of lewd acts upon a child under 14 years of age and one count of lewd acts by force on a child under 14 years of age.  The jury also found true that the victim was particularly vulnerable, Latifi violated a position of trust to commit his assaults, Latifi committed substantial sexual conduct with a child under 14 years of age and all charges were separate occurrences.

The 7-year-old victim went to Latifi’s home regularly to play with his daughter. When Latifi was the only adult supervising the girls, he played games with them. Latifi found ways to isolate the victim and sexually assault her when they played hide and seek, watched television in his bedroom and colored together.
