Steve Daniels was convicted by a jury of three counts of forcible rape, two counts of making terrorist threats and domestic violence causing great bodily injury.
Daniels and the victim were in a relationship. On April 5, 2022, Daniels began accusing the victim of cheating on him. He struck the victim then forcibly raped her while punching her in the face and threatening to kill her. A few hours later, Daniels raped the victim a second time. The next morning, he beat the victim again, raped her and smothered her with a pillow while threatening to kill her.
Daniels faces a maximum sentence of 27 years and 8 months in state prison. Sentencing is set for February 24, 2023, at 1:30 p.m. in Department 32 before the Honorable James Arguelles.
