CASE: Brelen Page (Case #20FE000438)

PROSECUTOR: Deputy District Attorney Samuel Alexander, Gangs & Hate Crimes Unit

Brelen Page was convicted by a jury of the first-degree murder of Tymon “Malik” Rodgers.  The jury also found true the allegation that Page intentionally and personally discharged a firearm causing death, and the special circumstance that Page discharged the firearm from a motor vehicle.

On January 1, 2020, the victim and his family were visiting friends in the parking lot of an apartment complex in North Sacramento. Brelen Page drove by the parking lot multiple times.  On his final pass, Page produced a 9mm semi-automatic handgun and fired six to eight shots at the victim.  One of the rounds struck the victim in the head and he died in the hospital three days later.  Detectives identified Page’s vehicle and he was taken into custody the next day. A handgun that was found in the vehicle was analyzed by the District Attorney’s Crime Lab and identified as the weapon used in the murder.  The gun was unregistered.

Page faces a maximum sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole.  Sentencing is set for March 3, 2023, at 1:30 p.m. in Department 40 before the Honorable Steve White.
