On August 21, 2026, Anthony Gibbs was convicted by a jury of attempted murder, two counts of shooting at an inhabited dwelling or occupied vehicle and felon in possession of a firearm. The jury also found true a use of firearm allegation and the aggravating factor that the crime involved planning, sophistication or professionalism.
On December 1, 2023, Anthony Gibbs shot a total of at least eight rounds into an occupied car. The front passenger of the car was struck in the cheek. The driver was struck four times, including in the back and shoulder.
Gibbs faces a maximum sentence of 31 years and 4 months in prison. Sentencing is set for September 21, 2026, at 9:30 AM in Department 15B before the Honorable Michael Sweet.
