Defendant Convicted of Killing Wife at Gas Station

Miguel Romo was convicted by a jury of the second-murder of Shannon Hinojosa. Romo was also convicted of discharging a firearm at an occupied vehicle and felon in possession of a firearm. The allegation that Romo personally discharged a firearm causing great bodily injury or death was also found true.
In October 2018, Miguel Romo shot and killed his wife during an argument at a Chevron gas station. The gun used in the murder was never recovered.
Allegations that Romo has two prior strike convictions will be determined at the sentencing hearing.
Romo faces a maximum possible sentence of life in prison. Sentencing is set for November 18, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. in Department 10 before the Honorable Ernest Sawtelle.
