Defendant Sentenced for Sexually Abusing 5-Year-Old Child

The Honorable Steve White sentenced Jose Navarrete to 126 years to life in prison.  On June 11, 2021, a jury convicted Navarrete of 10 counts of child sexual assault charges.

Navarrete committed multiple substantial sexual assaults against the victim when she was approximately 5 years old and continued to do so for approximately three years.  In August of 2018, the victim and her family reported the abuse to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office.
