DATE:  June 17, 2021

CASE: Javontae Rucker (Case #18FE004292)

PROSECUTOR: Deputy District Attorney Bruce Chang, Cyber Crimes Unit

Javontae Rucker pled to committing a sex act on a child under 10 years old.

In February of 2017, Rucker took digital images of himself sexually abusing a female infant when she was 7-8 months old.  When Rucker uploaded these images to his Google account, Google notified the Sacramento Valley High Tech Task Force. The task force then found additional images of child pornography on his various accounts.

This case is a parallel prosecution between the Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office and the US Attorney’s Office. Rucker was prosecuted in Federal Court for production of child pornography.

Rucker faces a maximum sentence of 15 years to life in prison, to be served concurrently with a 27-year federal prison sentence.  Sentencing is set for July 16, 2021, at 8:30 a.m. in Department 61 before the Honorable Geoffrey Goodman.
