Defendant Convicted of Sexually Assaulting Multiple Children

Fernando Murillo was convicted by a jury of eight counts of committing lewd acts on a child under the age of 14 and two counts of committing lewd acts on a child under the age of 14 by force, duress, menace, or fear.  The jury also found true that Murillo committed substantial sexual assault against one of the victims.

Murillo was close to the victims and their family.  The victims were between the ages of 5 to 12.  Murillo sexually assaulted three different children when he was with them in private.  The children disclosed the abuse to an adult, who reported to law enforcement.

Murillo faces a maximum sentence of 36 years in prison.  Sentencing is set for July 23, 2021, at 9:00 a.m. in Department 40 before the Honorable Richard Sueyoshi.
