Defendant Sentenced for Human Trafficking, Pimping, Pandering

DATE:  June 17, 2020

CASE:  Eugene Corbett (Case #19FE016628)

PROSECUTOR:  Deputy District Attorney Courtney Martin, Human Trafficking Unit

The Honorable David De Alba sentenced Eugene Corbett to 8 years state prison.  Corbett is also required to register as a sex offender for life.  On March 2, 2020, Corbett pled no contest to human trafficking, pimping and pandering.

In May 2018, the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office received an anonymous tip that Corbett was trafficking an 18-year-old woman.  The investigation revealed the victim was engaged in prostitution on behalf of Corbett.  Corbett used violence, threats, coercion and manipulation to control the victim.  Digital evidence was also found that corroborated allegations that Corbett was engaged in trafficking of young women. Corbett had previously been convicted and served time in prison for pimping.
