Defendant Convicted of Murdering His Father

Wesley Heaton Scobee was convicted by a jury of the second-degree murder of his father, Ernie Scobee.  The jury also found that the defendant used a firearm causing death.

Wesley Heaton Scobee and his father Ernie Scobee, resided in a home in Rio Linda.  On July 31, 2018, Wesley Heaton Scobee shot his father in the head, killing him, while his father was sleeping on a couch.

Scobee faces a maximum sentence of 40 years to life in prison.  Sentencing is set for April 17, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. in Department 42 before the Honorable Allen Sumner.
