CASE:  Vladimir Sinigur (Case #18FE004949)

PROSECUTOR:  Deputy District Attorney Catrina Ranum, Special Assault & Child Abuse Unit

Vladimir Sinigur was convicted by a jury of two counts of sexual intercourse with a child 10 years of age or younger, 10 counts of committing a lewd act with a child under 14 years of age and six counts of oral copulation on a child 10 years of age or younger. The jury also found true the allegation that the defendant committed the offenses against more than one victim.

Around 2016, Sinigur began to sexually assault three children when they were ages 4, 6 and 7.  In January 2018, Sinigur disclosed that he had been abusing the children to a family member, who then reported him to law enforcement.  The Rancho Cordova Police Department investigated and found evidence that confirmed the children were being abused.  When questioned by officers, Sinigur confessed to numerous acts of sexual assault on each of the three children.

Sinigur faces a maximum sentence of 250 years to life in prison.  Sentencing is set for February 7, 2020, at 9:00 a.m. in Department 12 before the Honorable Maryanne Gilliard.
