Defendant Convicted of Domestic Violence, Attempted Murder

Armando Pachicano pled no contest to premeditated attempted murder and causing great bodily injury during a domestic violence crime.

Pachicano and the victim had been in a dating relationship and recently broke up.  On March 22, 2015, Pachicano followed the victim into an apartment complex and ambushed her.  He stabbed her more than seven times, including slicing her throat.  Witnesses yelled at Pachicano to stop stabbing the victim and let her go.  Pachicano eventually stopped and attempted to drag the victim into a getaway car.  The victim suffered multiple life-threatening injuries to her chest and abdomen, but she survived.

Pachicano faces a maximum sentence of 11 years to life in prison.  Sentencing is scheduled for December 3, 2019, in Department 14 before the Honorable Tami Bogert.
