Defendant Convicted of Multiple Child Sexual Assault Charges

PROSECUTOR: Deputy District Attorney Brian Morgan, Special Assault & Child Abuse Unit

Andrew Young Jr. was convicted by a jury of 7 counts of committing lewd and lascivious acts on a minor under the age of 14, and one count of committing a lewd and lascivious act on a minor under the age of 14 with force. The jury also found true that Young had suffered a prior conviction for committing a lewd and lascivious act on a minor under the age of 14.

The victim was a family member who was between the ages of 12 and 13 when the sexual assaults were occurring.

Young faces a maximum sentence of 440 years to life in prison.  Sentencing is set for June 15, 2018, at 1:30 p.m. in Department 27 before the Honorable Steven Gevercer.
