The Honorable Russell Hom sentenced Ricky Allen Freeny to 82 years to life in prison. On February 9, 2018, a jury convicted Freeny for the first-degree murder of Gregory Denzel King and discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle. The jury found true allegations that Freeny discharged a firearm causing great bodily injury and death.
On June 12, 2015, Gregory Denzel King was a passenger in a car driven by Freeny’s ex-girlfriend, Nicole Burch. Mr. Freeny became jealous and enraged that Ms. Burch and Mr. King were together.
